Jeff Jones

Managing Director, Chief Information Officer

Jeff Jones joined SMBC MANUBANK in October 2024 as Managing Director and Chief Information Officer and serves on the Management Committee. He leads the development and execution of the bank’s integrated technology and digital strategic roadmap with accountability for technology strategy, systems administration, voice and data communications, financial technology platforms, training, organizational governance structure, and security systems. He also oversees enterprise-wide collaboration with SMBC Americas Division to ensure alignment on technology requirements.  

Jeff is a highly accomplished banking leader with a unique combination of business acumen and technology expertise. Before joining SMBC MANUBANK, he was the Executive Director of Strategic Enablement at Grupo Santander responsible for building and executing the strategy to launch Openbank in the U.S. Prior to that, he worked at Zenmonics Inc. as Chief Operating Officer, leading the company’s growth and acquisition by Fidelity Information Systems, and has held senior leadership positions with MUFG Union Bank, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo.

Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in mathematics at Wake Forest University and holds an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin. He dedicates time to community service, including as strategic advisor for Roof Above, an organization committed to ending homelessness. Previously, Jeff chaired the board of directors for Jacob’s Ladder Job Center and led its merger with the Urban League.
